AN ATTRACTIVE BOOK. Clean green cloth boards with gilt letters front board and spine; spine letters lightly rubbed. Moderate wear top and bottom of spine, and at corners, light edge wear to boards otherwise. Gilt page tops, solidly bound. Brown endpapers were cracked both front and back, but cloth beneath the paper remained intact. The endpapers underwent a glue repair, and black bookbinding tape was affixed to solidify the attachment. See listing photo showing this repair. Previous owner name neatly inked on ffep, else no markings in 515 pages. Attractive engraved photo of Victor Hugo as frontispiece. The poetry is fully in French without English translation. The preface is in English, and parts of the Index, which ran from page 505 to page 515, were also in English. B74
